2/5

This just in: A third member of my Chicky-Family passed away at approximately 2:00 pm today. Chicky no.3 died a natural death and was buried near it's other two deceased siblings. Only I was present at the funeral. Now only two feathery survivors remain in the pink bird cage.
I pray for the well-being of those still alive and a peaceful after-life for those who are no longer with us.

It is merely a Level
It's funny how life has it's ways of getting us to hate something and then, just a few blocks down the road, it makes us stand face to face to that very object of our detestation.
At least that's what Life has done with Me recently. There I was, swearing at my A levels half a year ago. I used to cuss at my books when no one was around. Eventually, the day of my final A level Examination finally arrived and, needless to say it was one of the happiest days of my life. I also clearly remember a Facebook status update of mine from that historic day which said:
"I have only two words for you A'levels: Good Riddance!"
And now, 7 months after that day, I have become a slave to that loathsome British Educational System once again. Life is a true prankster. I know you're "ROFL-ing", mocking me, laughing in hysterics as you watch me suffer in my misery. Even the books are pointing at me with their 'paper-hands' and laughing at me like hyena's.
I have a new outlook now. I see this scenario with a different perspective. It's my chance to bury the hatchet with A'levels once and for all. I am being given a second chance so that I can start over. Now, slowly, the books begin to shut their 'page-mouths', 'Life' straightens itself up and smiles charmingly at me and together, we sign a peace treaty.
"Hello, it's nice to meet you. I'm Aroob & you are?"
"Advanced Levels. Though you may call me A'levels for short!"
[Note: I am retaking my A'level examinations in the coming May/June 2011.
There, your confusion has been washed away]

The Person
There's this other person inside of me. This person watches over me. It notices my actions, monitors my thoughts and passes judgments every now and then. Just a while ago, it sighed at me. It was sigh of disapproval and disappointment. What it/she meant to say to me with that sigh was "Aroob, aren't you tired of this? When are you going to change?"
I'm sorry, person-that-dwells-within-me. Please just wait for me a little longer.
I'm a work in progress.

Liz, you iz a whiz!
SOoooo
I'm back in Lahore now. Came back alone on a Daewoo. I reallly enjoyed my stay at Pindi. I'd love to go there again sometime!
Okay so, the focus of this blog is primarily on my current 'spiritual-status'.
I'd describe it as 'Invisible/Appear Offline' at the moment. Infact, it's like I haven't even Signed in to the Soul Messenger yet! I've been reading a book nowadays called 'Eat Pray Love' by Elizabeth Gilbert. It's absolutely fantastic! It's everything I could ever ask for in the Perfect Book! It's extremely enlightening and I admire the way the author has literally walked her readers through her spiritual experiences and progressions. The words 'Truly Inspiring' for the book, are the biggest understatement!
I honestly want to meet that woman in person...I think She's my Guru!
*the light shines on me*
I HAVE TO MEET HER
*googles liz gilbert's home address*!!
you know, i'm not kidding here. I feel like Liz is definitely a sufi of some amateur level-and thats exactly the kind of Guru im looking for..someone who can guide me through the path, warning me of obstacles, signaling important turns, detours and just being like a GPS for me.
I need guidance
I need a guide for crying out loud! Is that too much to ask??
This is it.
Elizabeth Gilbert, be prepared to meet your most insane fan/pupil EVER!
I am planning on re-reading the book and writing down Each and every line that I find inspirational and supernatural and Extraordinary! I have a feeling that I'll end up quoting the entire book :D

Meaning
This soul, this body
it's an enormous responsibility
bestowed upon me
by Allah the Almighty
This invaluable asset called time
It can't be wasted
I can't commit such a crime
I can't commit such a heinous crime
Oh my Dear Lord
Forgive me
if my actions are not in accord
with the teachings You have taught me
Please
Guide me
okay enough of this rhyming gibberish
Let's just say i want to change things up a bit in my life (a description of the inspiration for this movement can be found in my previous blog)
I Want To Add Meaning To My Life
I am sick and tired of being a nobody and doing nothingy and living life like it's a big fat joke-y.
Basically, I just want to live a life in which every second, so graciously granted to me, has been rightly spent.
Allah! Allah!
ShukarAlhamdulillah!

"Nothing Lasts"
Salam
I haven't been here in a while.
I've been thinking about something a lot lately. Especially since that 'thing' always manages to reinforce itself in my mind one way or the other. This 'thing' is basically the ultimate reality of life-Death. The whole month of December had the word 'Death' engraved into each and every one of it's 31 days. Also, just a while ago, I watched the movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" which clearly gave a message to it's viewers in the same context, using the phrase 'Nothing Lasts'.
So now, at precisely 3:31 am in the morning, I can't help but ponder over this ridiculously real phenomenon. I can't stop myself from thinking if I'm ready for it myself. At present, I am frightened simply because I believe I don't know how to prepare myself for the transportation of my soul into a mysterious world. I wonder if, my death may come to me a few seconds from now, or even as I type these letters onto my blog. Hah! wouldn't that be ironic!
Do you know what comes to my mind most when I think about death? The fate of my personal diaries! Who will have the curiosity to read them? Who shall I leave them to? Will any of the rubbish I've filled into them over the years benefit anyone at all? Aah, this concept of death is becoming slightly intriguing now.
The greatest bother for me at the moment is the importance of religious practices with respect to Death. I just wish there was a scale in our lives which determined how close or far we are from entering either hell or paradise! That way, at least I could follow a certain path in order to keep that scale balanced. I could lead a more focused life.
I could go on and on about my wishes and whims. So I'll end this nonsense and just say a heartfelt prayer:
"Oh Allah! I Love You! I Love You! I thank You for each second of my life! Please bless everyone in this world."
Ameen.
